Everyone loves a good cleanse and scrub and pamper.
Sometimes, I feel like I take more care of my face and hair than my body, and
put more emphasis and focus on those areas. I was inspired to compile this list
of my favourite body products because I felt like I needed to appreciate my
body a bit more and put together my favourite things!
Exfoliating
Gloves: The cheapskates answer to a body scrub! At $4 a pair,
these are always handy to have, and I love how you can customise the wash you
use so you get both benefits in one. For example, I use these with my Dove
Triple Moisture Body Wash, and still get a great exfoliation. It’s important to
take care of these though! I had a mouldy pair in my shower for about 2 months
and I was too scared to move them! Haha. But, yes, I love the way these make my
skin feel so smooth and gets rid of the top layer of dead skin. It’s also great
for fake tan removal, and promotes bloodflow and skin cell rejuventation.
Woopeee!
Body
Shop Coconut Body Butter: My top favourite Body Butter scent of all time.
Coconut and Body Butter compliments each other so much, and I just can’t get
enough of the rich, thick, heavy cream that moisturises so well. I only really
use this during summer, when the sun and salt dries out my skin, but I apply it
really thick for next day softness.
Daisy
by Marc Jacobs: I previously did an in-depth review on this (Read it here )
and expressed my undying love for the scent. It is my most worn, most loved,
absolute favourite perfume of all time. It’s wonderfully playful and girly, and
I reach for this perfume every day. I absolutely love it because it instantly
lifts my spirits and makes me feel girly and pretty and happy!
Impulse
Sweet Smile Body Spray: I picked this one up purely on the two ingredients on
the front; pear and jasmine. I love this body spray, it is so fruity and sweet.
It’s perfect for a quick spritz every now and again throughout the day, and I normally
spray a tiny bit in my hair just for the hell of it. I absolutely love the
smell of this, and you would probably catch me spraying a bit on my sleeve so I
can smell it throughout the day!
Radox
Nourish Shower Cream: With shea butter and ginger, it’s such a luxuriously
thick and moisturising creamy shower gel which smells absolutely gorgeous. I
love moisturising shower creams because I use soap before it which strips my
skin. It’s important to restore the moisture to your skin to prevent dryness
and flakiness.
Dove
Invisible Dry Deodorant: My top deodorant! This one really works for me and I
trust the brand to nourish and protect my skin. The smell kind of reminds me of
talcum powder; it’s very fresh and clean. It’s also an ‘invisible’ deodorant,
meaning it won’t show up on clothes by accident and doesn’t cake up and go all
white like some deodorants do!
Dove
Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion: My answer to
fake tan! Let me begin by saying I HATE fake tanning! I hate the smell, loathe
the streakiness and detest the fading process. Don’t even get me started on my
bedsheets and towels! However, this one is a ‘gradual’ tan, meaning you apply
it as a body lotion and leave it to develop into a really subtle colour
overnight. In the morning, your legs are a slightly deeper colour. You apply the
tan over days and weeks to build up that perfect colour. This one is really
hard to mess up, just remember to wash your hands after using it because you
can still get those nasty tide marks between the fingers. I love this gradual
tanner, and wholeheartedly recommend it to those who hate fake tan but crave
that all year round glow.
Thanks for your comment, this is a great post! I've recently dug out my exfoliating gloves after leaving them hidden in the depths of a washbag. I was worried they would have gone mouldy but thankfully not! I have the Dove Summer Glow but only used it once, I really need to get it out and give it a proper go :-) xxx
