Guess who’s back? Back again? I can’t even believe how long it has been
since I made a post, but I’ve still been receiving comments and interest in my
posts and reviews. So, thank you! I’ve had an incredibly busy summer and in the
lead up to beginning university, everything got extremely overwhelming to
balance out. I’ve started my course now, I’ve moved up to Bristol and I’m more
inspired than ever to continue my beauty blogging endeavours.
This week’s review is on a set of skincare I’ve owned since Chirstmas.
That’s a long time to decide whether I like it or not. The verdict? I really
really like it! It’s the Seaweed skincare set from the beloved Body Shop; a
range designed to minimise oiliness and spottiness on your face. From the
range, I have the wash, scrub, mask and day cream.
Seaweed deep cleansing
facial wash
This is my most used product of the bunch; it’s a nice change from my
usual La Roche Posay holy grail facial wash from time to time. When my skin
gets really oily, I know it’s time to bring out the big Body Shop guns. This is
a great face wash for a middle of the road £9.50 because it removes makeup,
isn’t drying, smells nice and leaves my skin significantly less oily.
Seaweed pore-cleansing
facial exfoliator
Who doesn’t love a good deep scrub every now and again? I love this really
gritty (but also foaming which I adore) exfoliator because I feel like it’s
really working hard to rid me of all that nastiness that ends up sitting in my
pores after a busy day of makeup wearing and city living. At £11 it’s a little
pricier, but a genuinely brilliant investment to minimize oil in your skin and
leave you sparkly and fresh.
Seaweed day cream
This was always going to be the product I used the least. If you read my
blog frequently you’ll know that moisturisers and I are arch nemeses. I don’t
know why but my skin never gets on well with being moisturised, and I always
end up feeling greasy and rubbish. Even though this is a day cream designed to
mattify your face and make you look all soft and un-shiny, I still feel like
it’s a bit too much for me. I sometimes use this as an overnight moisturiser
(completely ignoring the name and purpose) and re-wash my face after it’s had
some tlc. The day cream costs £12.
Seaweed ionic clay mask
Now for the star of the show! Most of my readers will know I’m a sucker
for a face mask; nothing soothes me more than sticking on the XX album while I do
a deep conditioning hair treatment and slather a load of goodness on my face.
At £14, I wouldn’t call it cheap, but I would call it an incredibly effective
face mask. The generous sized tub holds a load of grey, cooling, soothing,
cleansing clay loveliness which takes about 15 minutes to dry, and absorbs all
your excess sebum and gross bits. Similar to the GlamGlow mask, you can see the
toxins being extracted as the mask dries; the dirt and oils show up as dark
spots on the face mask. This is definitely a winner, and if I had to pick one
out of the four to invest in, it is of course this brilliant mask.
What’s your favourite Body Shop range? Have you tried the Seaweed face
products? Leave me a comment and let me know what you thought!
